Control

How he gained entry into my house and my life.

  • Used my emotional state of my Mom being diagnosed with lung cancer to manipulate and take advantage of me. (Found out several months later that she was misdiagnosed and only had bronchitis.)
  • Made me feel sorry for him that he had no real place to live and was sleeping on different couch each night.
  • Made me think it was my idea for him to rent a room with a low rent fee in exchange of helping with the sorting of my mother’s things to which of her children she wanted her belonging to go.
Fear to Control me.
  • Threatened to make me lose my job. A resident had passed away at the retirement home we were both working at and had given certain staff members a thank you card. When I got home I put the unopened on the coffee table and left to go pick up my daughter for school.   When my daughter and I returned home the sealed envelope was torn open and the card was open on the coffee table. I was later questioned by my supervisor about a supposed $100.00 that others had turned in from receiving in their cards. I never saw the $100.00.  I was given an unwritten verbal warning at work. Geoff later admitted that he had heard from other staff members that they had received $100.00 in their cards and he opened mine knowing that the money would be there and took it.  He also told me that if I didn’t obey him, he would tell the general manager that I knew about the money was lying about not receiving any.
